Tommies add PEI Prop Gloria Flynn to roster in anticipation of 2023 ACAA season.
The Souris native who played for Montague Regional High School heads to St. Thomas while pursuing her degree in Human Rights.
She follows the footpath of Cross-Country graduate, and her current English teach Nathan Paton in choosing STU after high school. Although hesitant to leave Prince Edward Island, her campus tour made her feel right at home.
"I instantly fell in love," in talking about the Liberal Arts school. "Fredericton and St. Thomas feels much more personal thanks to its small class sizes."
She's excited to hit the pitch with the Women's Rugby team as well.
"Ever since watching my older sister play, I've wanted to do it even at 6 years old," Gloria said.
Flynn knows that she wants to help improve the Tommies record in the ACAA with her addition to the forwards group.
"My strength is in scrums, line outs and rucks," she said. "These are the things I dedicate the majority of my time to improving."
Coach Becca Baker is solidifying her group with Gloria committing to the Green & Gold.
“We are super excited to add another prop to the roster!" said the bench boss going into her 4th season at the helm.
"She has worked hard to specialize in this position and the coaching staff and I cannot wait to see how she adds to the program over the next four years,” added Baker.
"I am a very dedicated person and player that puts my all into everything I can," Flynn mentioned.
Flynn is the latest addition to the Women's Rugby team heading into the 2023-2024 season after the announcements of Lily Burgess, Karin Akulov, Vanessa Thompson, Aurora Sutton, Madelyn Walsh and Maleah Welton.
