Jorja Bovaird Commits to STU Women's Rugby Team
Fredericton, NB -  Hailing from Saint John, New Brunswick, Jorja Bovaird is excited to announce her commitment to St. Thomas University (STU) to pursue her dreams of playing rugby and obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in Education.
 
Jorja's journey with rugby has been a transformative experience. After making the Saint Malachy's Memorial High School rugby team, she continued to excel, eventually joining the Saint John Trojans Rugby Club. Her dedication and passion for rugby have earned her recognition and respect among her peers.
 
Reflecting on her love for rugby, Jorja shared, "Rugby means so much to me... It's more than just a game; it's about empowerment, strength, and the bonds formed within the team."
 
Jorja's commitment to rugby is matched by her dedication to education. Since eighth grade, she has set her sights on St. Thomas University, drawn to its small-town atmosphere and esteemed Bachelor of Arts in Education program. With aspirations of becoming a teacher, Jorja is eager to immerse herself in STU's inclusive learning environment and gain valuable experience working with children.
 
"I've always known I wanted to be a teacher, and STU feels like the perfect fit for me," said Jorja. "I'm excited to pursue my passion for education while continuing to play the sport I love."
 
As she embarks on this new chapter, Jorja is focused on her educational and career goals, including obtaining her Bachelor of Arts and Education, honing her teaching skills, and fostering inclusive learning environments.
