Sharly Larose Commits to STU Women's Rugby Team

Larose, a standout rugby player from Quebec City, Québec, has officially joined the St. Thomas University (STU) Tommies Women's rugby team. Larose, known for her exceptional kicking skills and prowess in the lineout, brings a wealth of talent and passion to the team.

Larose's journey in rugby has been nothing short of remarkable. Despite never envisioning herself pursuing university-level sports, rugby has become her true calling. Named the NB Player of the Week in April 2023, Larose's dedication to the sport is undeniable.

Reflecting on her new role with the Tommies, Larose expressed her excitement, saying, "I believe I can and will bring a positive attitude and determination to the team." Her passion for rugby and unwavering commitment are sure to inspire her teammates both on and off the field.

"My biggest strength is passion," Larose adds. "I love rugby, and I always give it my 100%. When someone loves what they do, it shows. It keeps me motivated, in a good headspace, and happy."

In addition to her athletic pursuits, Larose will be pursuing a psychology program at STU. She finds that STU will be a perfect git for her as she still needs to explore some other careers, and liberal arts works perfectly for her.

Known for her involvement in extracurricular activities, she aims to continue her community engagement by participating in various volunteer committees. Currently serving as the president of the Best Buddies committee for the past three years and a member of the school's graduate committee, Larose is dedicated to making a positive impact both on and off the rugby pitch.

The addition of Sharly Hughes Larose to the STU Tommies Women's rugby team signifies an exciting new chapter for the program. With her talent, leadership, and commitment, Larose is poised to make significant contributions to the team's success.
