UNB Defeats STU 19-0 in Home Opener
UNB defeated STU 19-0 in the "Battle of the Hill".
Tommies took on the UNB Reds in their home opener at Grant Harvey Field. UNB's Cassie Innis opened the scoring with a try, giving the Reds a 5-0 lead. The match remained balanced with both teams pushing forward, but UNB held the advantage going into halftime, leading 7-0.
The Reds extended their lead in the second half, with Ella Myers scoring a try, followed by a successful conversion from Lilly Innis. The Tommies had to contend with multiple injuries which led to the game being halted at the 70th minute mark.
UNB secured the win with a final score of 19-0. The next match for the Tommies is against Holland on September 22nd, while UNB will take Mount Allison.
