Seawolves and Tommies Both Earn a Point

Seawolves and Tommies Both Earn a Point

(Fredericton, NB) The STU Tommies and UNBSJ Seawolves battled their way to a 2-2 draw Sunday afternoon at Scotiabank South Park.

First year forward Karlee Duval (Baxters Corner, NB) opened the scoring for the Seawolves in the 5th minute as she used to her speed to evade the Tommies defense.

After some back and forth action the Tommies answered with their goal scoring machine Nikita McCartney (Moncton, NB) taking a beautiful through ball from rookie Robyn MacPhail (Rothesay, NB) and depositing it into the back of the net.

McCartney struck again six minutes later to give the Tommies a 2-1 lead. That lead held strong until Duval took the ball in and side-stepped Tommies' keeper Mary Cronin (New Maryland, NB) and scored the tying goal.

The Tommies will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 22 when they host Dalhousie AC Rams at 2:00pm at Scotiabank South Park, while the Seawolves will host the Holland College Hurricanes the same day at 2:00pm.
