(Fredericton, NB) The Mount Saint Vincent Mount Mystics lost to the St. Thomas University Tommies, 1-0 at the Scotiabank South Park on Saturday afternoon. This is the Tommies second consecutive win.

The game was packed with scoring chances on both ends with dramatic saves. The Mystics were nearly successful in the 38th minute, but the shot was intercepted by Tommies centre back Jessica McWilliams (Tracadie, NB) just a few feet from the goal-line.

The game remained scoreless until the 82nd minute when Tommies rookie wing back Kait Benjamin (Bridgewater, NS) changed the score to 1-0.

"She came into the second half with some good energy," said head coach Michelle Decourcey. "It was a top-notch finish from her and we're glad to come away with a win."

The Tommies will be playing tomorrow against the University of King's College Blue Devils. Decourcey believes a strong start will be the key to success.

"We need to really set the tone in the first 15 minutes tomorrow if we want to have a six point weekend," said Decourcey.

The Mystics will be playing their next game tomorrow in Saint John against the Seawolves.
