Fredericton, NB – The visiting Crandall University Chargers managed to escape the Tommies fierce offence with the game ending in a draw on a stormy Wednesday night at The Grant-Harvey Centre field.

Haley Coleman (Hampton, NB), got the Tommies off to a strong start with a powerful shot off the bar but was unable to find the back of the net.

The Tommies were off to a strong start having many opportunities in the first half of the game, although unable to capitalise on any of their scoring opportunities.

Throughout the match there was some great communication from team captain Kaleigh Roberts (Moncton, NB); which led to the team's overall control of possession and pace setting throughout the match.

In the dying minutes of the game the Tommies would make some last second attempts to get one in behind the Chargers keeper but to no avail.

"I'd argue communication's the most important because you can cover everything you learned at practice, it triggers muscle memory and helps everyone and keeps the energy up" said team captain Roberts.

"It's a bit frustrating when you have so many opportunities and not be able to put the ball in the back of the net", said head coach, Michelle DeCourcey. "I'd like to think the goals were coming, but the game is only 90 minutes long, so you need to be able to do it within that time frame."

Crandall will host the UNBSJ Seawolves Saturday September 18th, while STU is back in action Sunday the 19th on the road against UNBSJ at 1:00pm,
