Leana Graham Commits to STU Women's Soccer Program
Leana Graham, a rising star from Citadel High School (NS), will be joining St. Thomas University Women's soccer team next fall
Leana Graham has officially committed to St. Thomas University (STU) to further her academic and athletic pursuits. Graham, known for her prowess as a striker or winger, brings her exceptional skills and dedication to the STU Women's Soccer Program. "A fast forward with a strong left foot and great technical ability," expressed Itoafa.
Graham's decision to join St. Thomas University stems from her desire to be part of a tight-knit community where she can thrive both academically and athletically. "I was always interested in attending a small university so I could be in a community where everyone knows each other. And I think St. Thomas is the perfect school for that," she remarked.
However, it was the opportunity to continue playing the sport she loves that solidified her commitment to STU. "My main reason I committed to STU was to play on the soccer team and still play the sport I love. I am so grateful for having the opportunity to play for this team," Graham added.
Academically, Graham is passionate about criminology and has a keen interest in human services, law, and politics. She also harbors a fascination with sociology and its implications for human behavior. Her academic pursuits align with STU's commitment to fostering critical thinking and social responsibility.
In addition to her athletic and academic endeavors, Graham is actively involved in extracurricular activities. She has showcased her versatility by participating in the school badminton team and excelling in track and field, earning a spot in the 400x4 provincial relay race for her school.
Looking ahead, Graham is eager to integrate herself into the STU Women's Program and forge strong bonds with her teammates. "I am excited to meet my new teammates and become close with them. I also need to prepare myself for all the training that is starting in August," she expressed.
Leana Graham's arrival at St. Thomas University signals a new chapter in her academic and athletic journey, and her contributions are eagerly anticipated both on and off the field.
