Fredericton, NB - The STU Tommies bounced back from their midweek loss with a dominant 3-0 victory over the Crandall Chargers at Grant-Harvey Turf.
The Tommies came out strong from the start, with rookie Erika Swinamer opening the scoring in the 11th minute. Throughout the first half, the Tommies kept the pressure on, creating multiple scoring opportunities.
Just before halftime, Lindsey Smith added a crucial second goal in the 44th minute, sending the Tommies into the break with a 2-0 lead.
Crandall fought back in the second half, generating chances of their own, but goalkeeper Lauren Erb was unbeatable between the posts.
In the 53rd minute, Katy Davidge extended Tommies lead with a third goal. Davidge nearly added another but had a goal disallowed. The Tommies held firm until the final whistle, securing a 3-0 victory on home turf.
Lauren Erb's performance earned her the Player of the Game honors as the Tommies celebrated an important win, looking to build momentum as they continue the season. This result marks Crandall's fourth consecutive loss.
Up next, STU will be on the road facing off against MSVU on Saturday, September 28th, while Crandall hosts Holland College on Sunday, September 29th.
