STU Tommies Sign Dynamic Goalkeeper Lauryn Swaine for 2024 Women’s Soccer Season
Fredericton, NB – The St. Thomas University (STU) Tommies women’s soccer program is proud to announce the addition of Lauryn Swaine, a versatile and determined goalkeeper with an infectious passion for the game, to their roster.
A graduate of James M Hill High School and standout player for Club Soccer Dieppe, Lauryn brings not only her skills as a shot-stopper but also a winning mindset and a drive for excellence. "I heard great things about the academic programs and was drawn to the welcoming environment of St. Thomas," said Swaine.
Lauryn is excited to dive into her criminology studies at STU, where her natural curiosity and analytical thinking will shine. Off the pitch, she’s a multifaceted talent, competing in track and actively engaging in school clubs. Her energy and enthusiasm extend beyond sports, making her a perfect fit for the vibrant STU community.
What sealed the deal for Lauryn? The team culture. "I was very impressed by how welcoming the players and coaching staff were, as well as their determination and work ethic on the field," she said. Her addition strengthens a program that prides itself on teamwork, grit, and continuous improvement.
As the Tommies gear up for the 2024 season, Head Coach David Itoafa shared their excitement about Lauryn joining the squad: “Lauryn is a phenomenal addition to our team.
