Hurricanes Best Tommies 3-1 in Charlottetown

The St. Thomas University Tommies were bested 3-1 by the Holland College Hurricanes in ACAA women's volleyball action Saturday in Charlottetown.

Set scores were 12-15, 15-25, 31-29, 14-25.

The Tommies struggled with unforced passing and service errors—they recorded 19 and 15, respectively—which gave the Hurricanes an edge in the first two sets. 

The Tommies bounced back in the third with a hard-fought win, but the Hurricanes were able to close out the match with a decisive win in the fourth set. 

Jessica Barna led the Tommies with eight kills and six digs, while Deidra Jones tallied six kills and seven digs. 

The Hurricanes were paced by Brittany States, who had 11 kills and four kills. Alice Marques added six kills and six service aces in the win.
