Fredericton, NB – The St. Thomas University Tommies women's volleyball team dispatched the University of Kings College 3-0 (25-9, 25-22, 25-10) on Saturday at the Lady Beaverbrook Gymnasium.

"I was very pleased with today's effort and execution," said Tommies' head coach, Don McKay. "We served well, we attacked well to keep UKC off balance the entire match."

Tommies' captain, Caitlin Jones (Fredericton, NB), had a game high 22 assists and distrusted the ball effectively, with Gabrielle Melanson (Fredericton, NB) having a game high 9 kills, and Danica Godin (Fredericton, NB) and Maddie MacGregor (Truro, NS) each had 7 kills. Melanson did her damage on a very effective .444 kill percentage.

"Caitlin distributed the ball well," added McKay. "She is the first decision maker, and her decision making tonight was very, very good."

Leading the way for the Blue Devils was Kiana Higuchi with 4 kills.

The Tommies will play Universite de Sainte Anne next Saturday at 7:00pm, while the Blue Devils will travel to Saint John tomorrow to face the Seawolves with opening serve set for 12:00pm.
