Tommies Break Losing Streak with Victory Over UNB Saint John

Fredericton, NB Tommies, emerged triumphant with a 3-1 win over UNB Saint John, breaking a three-game losing streak and marking a positive turn in their season.

The introduction of Alessandra Hernandez to the main lineup marked a notable moment for the Tommies. STU surged ahead early in the first set, leading 5-2 against the Seawolves.  The opening set concluded with STU securing a 25-19 victory.

UNBSJ responded strongly in the second set, taking an early lead and maintaining control to secure a 25-13 win. Undeterred, STU rallied in the third set, clinching a closely contested 25-23 victory and taking a 2-1 lead in the match.

With determination to secure the win, the Tommies delivered a solid performance in the fourth set, emerging victorious with a final score of 3-1 against UNBSJ.

This win marked STU's first victory of the second semester and ended a challenging three-game losing streak.

Post-match, debutant Alessandra Hernandez, returning after a suspension, expressed her satisfaction, stating, "I feel really excited since it was a long time without playing. I'm happy I'm able to play now and very happy we were able to win this game, as it was my first game back." The Tommies celebrated both the win and Hernandez's return, signaling a positive shift in their season.
