Fredericton, NB - STU Tommies opened their season with a thrilling five-set victory over the MSVU Mystics, setting a strong tone at home.
The Tommies took the first set 25-20, showcasing their determination and energy. MSVU, however, responded in the second set with a narrow 25-22 win, leveling the score.
The battle continued with STU reclaiming the lead, winning the third set 25-23. The Mystics pushed back in the fourth set, taking it 25-21 and forcing the game into a fifth. With the crowd behind them, the Tommies clinched the final set, marking a memorable 3-2 victory in their home opener.
Julia Campbell's performance earned her Player of the Game honors, as she played a pivotal role in securing the Tommies' first home win.
Next game for the Tommies will be against USTA tomorrow at 1pm. MSVU will face UNBSJ
