Fredericton, NB - The St. Thomas Tommies team showed grit and determination in a closely contested match against the University of King's College (UKC) in Fredericton. The Tommies forced a decisive fifth set after falling behind 2-0 but ultimately came up just short, as UKC secured a 3-2 victory.
Blue Devils opened strong, taking the first set 25-23 and maintaining their momentum with a 25-21 win in the second. The Tommies regrouped and came out firing in the third set, dominating with a convincing 25-14 win. With their backs against the wall, the Tommies edged out a thrilling 26-24 win in the fourth set, forcing the match to a fifth and final set.
Despite their comeback effort, the Tommies couldn't overcome UKC in the deciding set, as the Blue Devils closed out the match 3-2.
Ava Slipp was named Player of the Game.
The Tommies will look to bounce back in their next matchup and UKC will look to add to their streak
