Fredericton Native Bronwyn Gillingham Joins Women’s Volleyball
Fredericton, NB – Tommies women’s volleyball is proud to welcome Bronwyn Gillingham, an outside hitter from Fredericton, New Brunswick.
A product of the Spartans Volleyball Club and Leo Hayes High School, Gillingham is known for her energy, leadership and her competitive spirit.
Reflecting on what she will contribute to the team, she shared, "I'm so excited to be joining the Tommies. I will bring a competitive and driven attitude to help my team be successful. Being able to play with a team that is so tight-knit will keep me working hard and wanting to contribute as much as possible.”
Choosing St. Thomas University was a clear decision for this Gillingham, who felt a strong connection to the community: “I chose St. Thomas because of how close and welcoming the team was. After talking to an academic advisor at STU, I knew this was where I wanted to continue my academic and volleyball career. Not just the team was welcoming—everyone I talked with about the school was super nice and willing to answer all the questions I had.”
Gillingham will bring her academic ambition as she will pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology.
Head Coach Kim Colpitts expressed her excitement about the recruit joining the program: “We’re thrilled to welcome such a talented and enthusiastic player to the Tommies. I know Bronwyn to be a strong leader on and off the court. Her skill, energy, and competitiveness will be a fantastic fit for our team culture, and we can’t wait to see her grow as both an athlete and a student here at STU.”
With a push for playoffs still at hand, the Tommies continue to build to the future, adding their third recruit for the 2025–26 season.
