Tommies Women’s Volleyball Welcomes Eva Aleksa to the 2025-26 Roster
FREDERICTON, NB – Tommies women’s volleyball program is proud to announce the commitment of Eva Aleksa, a middle blocker from Ancaster, Ontario, as the fifth recruit for the upcoming season.
Aleksa joins the Tommies from Bishop Tonnos Catholic Secondary School and the Oakville Thunder Volleyball Club, where she played for the Rumble team. Her strong presence at the net and competitive spirit have contributed to multiple championship victories, including consecutive city and regional titles, as well as provincial gold and silver championships.
“When I look forward to the next four years, I hope to contribute to the Tommies success on and off the court,” said Aleska. “I will bring a strong mindset, a competitive spirit, energy, and hard work. I’m excited to support my teammates, bring my passion for volleyball to Fredericton, and continue my winning mentality at STU.”
Aleksa’s decision to join St. Thomas University was driven by the welcoming environment and the close-knit community that will support her both academically and athletically.
“STU offers a warm, welcoming environment and a place where my needs as a student and athlete will be met,” she said. “When I met Coach Kim, she was very easy to talk to, and she helped me realize that STU is the perfect fit for me. Moving far from home, I know STU will help me grow as a person and as a volleyball player.”
Aleksa will be pursuing a degree in Communications and Public Policy with a minor in Digital Arts. Her goal is to use her studies to advance her future as a teacher and coach. Outside of volleyball, she enjoys traveling, drawing, exercising, baking, and spending time with friends, family, and her dog.
"Eva brings experience playing in a strong Ontario club volleyball system. She is eager to learn, contribute and be part of the program we are building. I anticipate Eva will push us to be better and bring a strong competitive presence to our team". said Kim Colpitts
Aleksa is eager to begin her journey at STU and is looking forward to learning from Coach Kim and her teammates.
“I can see myself growing and contributing to the program and helping my team succeed,” she said. “Kim helped me connect with the STU community, and I know this is the right place for me. I can’t wait to be part of the Tommies family.”
The Tommies had a great second semester, and now that their season has come to an end, they continue to build a strong roster for the upcoming season. Stay tuned for more updates as the team prepares for the 2025–26 campaign.
